Community Engagement Manager

Position Summary

ProKids is seeking a highly organized and adaptable part-time community engagement manager to implement community outreach for the benefit of abused and neglected children in Hamilton County. Focusing on the cultivation of diverse individuals, businesses and community organizations, the community engagement manager will increase brand awareness — strengthening volunteer recruitment, retention and funding for ProKids. By mobilizing a diverse community of allies who are vested in children’s well-being, the successful candidate will bring many voices together to speak up for ProKids children.

Working toward recruitment goals set by ProKids, the community engagement manager will develop and implement a comprehensive community outreach plan to engage diverse audiences and provide a robust pipeline of potential volunteers and donors. They will be a dynamic professional, energized through finding and building these new relationships.

This staff member must be an effective and engaging speaker, comfortable with conducting presentations, as well as connecting with potential volunteers on an individual basis. They will have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills — able to educate prospects about ProKids and convey the importance of our mission. They will also be capable of leveraging social media to recruit, engage and cultivate this audience.

Proficient in the dynamics of cultural norms of our clients, volunteers and community, the successful candidate will conduct ProKids business with the utmost respect and professionalism. They will provide a high-touch experience of ProKids throughout the community — helping us to build a culture of belonging and inclusiveness as we work toward our vision of a safe, permanent and nurturing home for all children.

Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement a community outreach plan to identify and build relationships with diverse audiences. Participate in or conduct all external Snapshot presentations and outreach opportunities. Provide data, analysis and recommendations to inform agency decisions and track recruitment and diversity, equity and inclusion goals set by ProKids. Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of ProKids programs and practices, community need and other research pertaining to our work — applying that knowledge to engage future volunteers and donors. Attend, network and cultivate volunteers and donors at all development activities and events. This staff member may be required to work irregular hours, nights and weekends as required for the operation of ProKids

Experience: Applicants should have a proven record of recruitment, community engagement, sales and/or marketing to a diverse audience. A bachelor’s degree, equivalent work or volunteer experience is required. Superior knowledge of social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as Microsoft Office software, is preferred. Experience with donor management software is preferred, as is general knowledge of child welfare issues, nonprofit, fundraising and volunteer management.
