Last year alone, approximately 3,500 children in Hamilton County entered the child protection system due to abuse and neglect. Each of these children deserves what every child does — a safe, permanent, and nurturing home. Yet, too many children go unheard, with their needs overlooked in the system. That’s why ProKids is here, determined to be their advocate, and we’re asking for your support to help us fulfill this mission.
This year, ProKids has taken our biggest leap forward, launching the Chance at a Childhood Campaign with an ambitious goal of raising $28 million. This campaign will secure a generational home for ProKids, ensure we can support every child in need, and build a stable future for all children. But we can’t do this alone. We need you — a dedicated member of our community — to help us sustain this momentum and provide critical support for abused and neglected children.
Your support can change our kids’ lives. By donating to ProKids, you ensure that children in our community have the advocacy and resources they need to start on a better future.
Don’t wait! JTM Food Group will match all donations up to $50,000 through December 31st, doubling your impact during this critical time!
Meet Carter.
At just 8 years old, Carter entered the child protection system in desperate need. He had been caught stealing food—hungry, frightened, and alone. When authorities arrived at his home, it was a stark reminder of the neglect he had suffered. The house was filthy, and there was little food to be found. But everything changed when Carter was assigned a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) from ProKids.
Doug, a dedicated CASA volunteer, stepped in to guide Carter through a difficult time. He connected him with a therapist, ensured he was placed safely with relatives, and worked tirelessly to meet his emotional, educational, and social needs. When Carter’s mother faded from the picture, Doug remained his advocate, ensuring Carter’s voice was heard. And when Carter’s estranged father stepped forward, Doug was there to advocate for their reunion.
Today, Carter is thriving. He’s building a strong relationship with his dad and half-siblings, and he’s finally feeling the love and security every child deserves. This is just one example of how ProKids helps children find safety, stability, and hope.
