Become a CASA Volunteer in Cincinnati

You are more than just a volunteer.

If you are looking to volunteer in Cincinnati, you can make a lasting impact for children in Hamilton County who deserve safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. As a CASA volunteer with ProKids, you provide critical foster care advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. When you advocate for a child in foster care, you become someone they can count on — someone who listens, understands, and speaks up when it matters most. As part of our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, you will be trained and supported by ProKids staff to serve as a juvenile court volunteer and provide professional court advocacy for children both in and out of court.

What is a CASA?

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained community member who serves as a court volunteer for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers provide critical foster care advocacy, ensuring a child’s needs and best interests are clearly understood within the juvenile court system.

Through the dedication of each CASA volunteer, children can gain access to the medical care, educational support, and stability they need while navigating foster care. By offering consistent court advocacy for children, CASAs help ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

How does ProKids help?

Recruiting, Training, and Supporting Community Volunteers

ProKids recruits and trains community members who want to volunteer in Cincinnati and make a difference for vulnerable children. Each CASA volunteer (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is assigned to advocate for a child who has entered the foster care system due to abuse or neglect. Through consistent foster care advocacy, CASA volunteers ensure that children have a voice and someone standing up for their best interests.

Mobilizing Advocacy Teams

Dedicated staff, CASA Managers, and attorneys work alongside each CASA volunteer to advocate for children in Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Together, these teams provide strong court advocacy for children, helping ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up safe, supported, and in a stable home.

Involving Others in the Community

Many community members also choose to volunteer for children in other ways. Support volunteers assist with office projects, community outreach, and donation drives that help support foster children and strengthen ProKids’ work across Cincinnati.

Attracting Donors

By raising awareness about child abuse and neglect, ProKids brings together donors and supporters who want to help improve outcomes for children in foster care. Their generosity helps expand foster care advocacy and ensures more children receive the support they deserve.

Proving Our Effectiveness

ProKids carefully tracks outcomes for every child served by our CASA volunteers. These results are reviewed and published each year to measure the impact of our advocacy and ensure children continue receiving the support they need.

Creating Alliances

ProKids collaborates with schools, healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and other community partners across Cincinnati. These partnerships strengthen the network of support surrounding children and help ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up safe, stable, and supported.

Make Your Impact.

As a CASA volunteer, you will receive training and support from ProKids staff to confidently advocate for foster children’s best interests both in and out of court. With your support, we can create a lasting impact for children in Cincinnati who deserve safe, permanent, and nurturing homes.
